About Dr. RuthAnn Solomon
For nearly twenty years, I've had the privilege of caring for dogs and cats while building lasting relationships with the people who love them. During that time, I've worked in private practice, served as Veterinary Director for the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, and partnered with responsible breeders to support the health of breeding dogs, puppies, and their future families.
Throughout every stage of my career, one thing has remained constant: I believe the best veterinary care begins with listening. Every pet is unique, every family has different goals, and the best medical decisions are made together through thoughtful conversation and individualized care.
As much as I enjoyed private practice, I found myself wanting more time with my patients and their families. I wanted appointments that weren't rushed, conversations that weren't cut short, and the opportunity to care for pets in the environment where they are often most relaxed.
Providing care in the home allows me to see pets where they are most comfortable and gives us the time to focus not only on medical care, but also on the questions, concerns, and goals that are important to you. Whether welcoming a new puppy or kitten, helping a senior pet remain comfortable, or guiding families through difficult decisions, my goal is always the same: to provide compassionate, practical veterinary care tailored to the individual patient.
I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tufts University in 2006. Shortly after graduation, I joined Bay State Animal Clinic, where I practiced for seven years before accepting the opportunity to serve as Veterinary Director at the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation. I later returned to private practice, spending five years at Kirby Veterinary Hospital before returning to Bay State with the hope of eventually leading the practice into its next chapter.
When that opportunity ultimately didn't come to fruition, it became the catalyst for creating something entirely my own. Those ideas became the foundation for Salt Meadow Veterinary—a practice built around thoughtful medicine, lasting relationships, and compassionate care delivered in the comfort of home.
